Confetti at your wedding

confetti at your wedding

Confetti is fun and looks great in photos - if it’s done right.

What confetti do you want

There are a few options for confetti on your special day. Before you purchase your confetti, think about where you’ll be throwing this - inside or outside, are you allowed this at your venue (make sure you ask) and what type of confetti do you want? Paper confetti always looks great and has a lot of air time, making for beautiful photos. Nowadays you can purchase biodegradable paper confetti, making it an easy clean-up (you don’t have to do a thing). The other options are flower petals that you can purchase from your florist or online. Think about the colours in your confetti to match your day - if your wedding is white and classic, go for neutral-coloured confetti.

Best way to throw the confetti

There are many ways to get your bundles of confetti up into the air. The most traditional is having your friends and family at the wedding throw handfuls of loose confetti over you as you walk back down the aisle after your ceremony.

We tell all our couples to pass on these important steps to ensure you get the best confetti exit.

  1. Get people throwing upwards rather than straight at your face.

  2. Hand out the confetti to every second person. You don’t need everyone throwing it, otherwise, you’ll be covered and we won’t see you in the photos.

  3. Tell the people holding the confetti DON’T WALK OUT INTO THE AISLE. The Confetti will get enough air over the couple from their seats. Leave the aisle clear for the couple to walk down and enjoy the moment together as a newlywed couple.
