Getting ready locations

Here’s what to keep in mind..

Location

Before we book you in, we discuss your day in detail, from pre-wedding locations to ceremony timings and what is important to you. From here we will give you examples of generic wedding schedules therefore we’re choosing the right packages for you. Your pre-wedding location will play a role in deciding what package you will need. Our time starts when we arrive at the groom’s location, so if you can organise your pre-wedding locations close to each other and the venue you’ll have more time with us and less time traveling between venues.

Think about your SPACES

Preparation images set the look and feel for your day, and make up one-third of your wedding day photos so it’s important to put some thought into where you’re planning on getting ready. Choose somewhere with character, that fits the style of your wedding day. Somewhere that’s light and bright, with lots of room for everyone.

Getting ready at your family home can be lovely as everything present will be relevant to you. If getting ready here, make sure that the house is as tidy and clutter-free as possible before your photographer and videographer arrive. This is so the photographers can focus on you and not be distracted by the other objects in the room. Alternatively, you could think about booking a nice apartment or house via Airbnb, there are heaps of options out there now.

Make sure it’s only the people that need to be there present; Bride, bridesmaids, and parents for example. It can become chaotic otherwise. It’s a good idea to use one room to store all your bags etc and have another room to get dressed in. Note: hotel rooms can have poor lighting making it a little more difficult to capture really beautiful images, so if you can ask for a room with the most natural light this will help.

For groomsmen, we allow 45 minutes - 1 hour with you and for brides, we like to allow 1-2 hours between hair and makeup finishing and the time you want to leave for the ceremony. The dress may take a lot longer to put on than you think, and we like to capture your details in multiple ways if we can.
