Timeline for booking your wedding

You’re engaged…now what?! We’ve put together a wedding guide to start the planning and make it stress free!

12-18 Months Before the Wedding:

  • Determine the budget for the wedding

  • Create a guest list

  • Choose a date and time for the wedding

  • Book the ceremony and reception venues

  • Hire a wedding planner (if desired)

  • Choose the wedding party and ask them to participate

  • Start looking for wedding attire (dresses, suits, etc.)

  • Research vendors (photographers/videographers, hair and make up, florists etc.) and begin booking them

9-12 Months Before the Wedding:

  • Send out save-the-date cards

  • Start thinking about the wedding theme and décor

  • Choose the celebrant and discuss the ceremony

  • Book the honeymoon

  • Choose and order the wedding invitations

  • Schedule engagement photoshoot - book your hair and make-up trial for the same day!

  • Register for wedding gifts

6-9 Months Before the Wedding:

  • Finalise the guest list

  • Book hotel rooms for out-of-town guests

  • Order wedding attire and accessories

  • Hire a band or DJ and choose music for the reception

  • Book hair and makeup artists

  • Book transportation for the wedding day

  • Finalize the menu and cake design with the caterer

  • Schedule a wedding dress fitting

3-6 Months Before the Wedding:

  • Purchase wedding bands

  • Arrange for rental items (tables, chairs, linens, etc.)

  • Choose wedding favors

  • Finalize the floral arrangements

  • Choose readings and music for the ceremony

  • Begin addressing and mailing invitations

1-3 Months Before the Wedding:

  • Confirm all vendor contracts and payments

  • Schedule the final dress fitting

  • Finalise the wedding day schedule with your planner or photographer

  • Confirm the ceremony rehearsal plans

1-2 Weeks Before the Wedding:

  • Confirm all details with vendors and wedding party

  • Pack for the honeymoon

  • Give the final headcount to the caterer and venue

  • Create seating arrangements and place cards with designer

The Week of the Wedding:

  • Get a manicure and pedicure

  • Have a final dress fitting

  • Rehearse the ceremony

  • Confirm all wedding day details with vendors
